About Binghamton Buddies

Binghamton Buddies is a volunteering organization that is designed to connect Binghamton University students with BOCES students. BOCES consists of a set of alternative education programs for students K through 12 who have been removed from mainstream public schools for behavioral, social and academic issues. Binghamton Buddies as individuals are to support and improve the experiences of the students whom they work with by tutoring them, conversing with them, and showing them that they have worth. Binghamton Buddies aim to serve as role models, to inspire K-12 students so that they themselves will work to graduate on time, continue their education as they see fit, prepare for careers, and become responsible citizens.

Places We Volunteer

West Learning Center

We hold GIMs at the beginning of each semester for students to attend and learn more about our organization. It's important for you to try and come out to these meetings because we fill out paperwork that gets submitted to the schools that we work with and the SA as well. If you are unable to attend, please email us and we will do our best to work with you. The earlier you contact us, the better. Keep an eye out on our Facebook page for announcements regarding our next information meeting. We look forward to seeing everyone at our next GIM!

Let's get started!

Hi Buddies,

We are so excited to start volunteering with you this semester! We have finished scheduling and hope to start volunteering within the next couple weeks.

In order to start volunteering, we will be having a quick general body meeting on Friday, February 16th from 4:00-5:00pm in UU209 to discuss some requirements that come with volunteering. It is mandatory that volunteers attend this meeting, as we will be sharing crucial information and new badges will be handed out.

Information regarding the schedule and ride shares will be sent out soon.

Best,
